True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse

Obviously its been a few days since i last posted... I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series, and I can't put it down long enough to write a new blog entry.... LOL
I love that series... i definitely recommend it to anyone interested in starting a new series of books.
Have you ever seen the HBO series "True Blood?" I seriously love that show, and its made loosely based off of the Sookie Stackhouse series, watching the show is how i originally found out about the books.
They are vampire books, but they aren't as sappy or teenage as the Twilight series. The Sookie Stackhouse series is a lot more adult in content, they can get pretty descriptive when it comes to the steamier scenes, but they aren't difficult reads, so you can read the books pretty quickly. There are 9 of them, and i'm currently on number 4. Supposedly the author (Charlaine Harris) is still writing more of them. I'm definitely excited to read the entire series.
The series is from the point of view of Sookie, a telepathic woman living in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Vampires have "come out" to the community ever since the Japanese produced synthetic blood, allowing vampires to survive without the need for human blood.
Anyways, the books are awesome reads... and you should definitely read them!

Ok, now I'm hooked-i definitely got to start reading these books! It sounds like something that I would totally be into. I just don't want to have to buy them..maybe I can find them at a local library. How close do the books follow the show or rather vice versa?

Hello, I found your blog on LB Society! Your blog is so fun and your little girl is SO cute :) I LOVE True Blood and have been wanting to read the book series. I just don't want the show to ruin the books or the books to ruin the show.
